
Gregg McClymont’s career has encompassed infrastructure investment, politics, pensions policy, and academia. Gregg joined IFM Investors in July 2020 from £30bn UK DC fund The People’s Pension. His previous role was as Head of DC at leading UK investment house Aberdeen Asset Management 2015-18. In politics, Gregg was UK Shadow Minister of State for Pensions 2011-2015 and a Member of Parliament 2010-15. Gregg was also a member of the Prime Minister’s Commission on Further Devolution to Scotland 2014 and of the House of Commons Select Committees on Science and Technology and Business and Trade. Gregg initially trained as a historian: he was a Tutorial Fellow of St Hugh’s College, Oxford – following undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Universities of Glasgow, Penn, and Oxford. He is the co-editor of three volumes on global pension investment systems design, Towards a new pensions settlement: the international experience (Rowman and Littlefield, 2016, 2018, 2020). Gregg sits on the Board of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) – the UK’s pensions trade body and has previously been a NED at The Lifetime Savings Alliance (TISA), Pensions Quality Mark (PQM) and the Pensions Scholarship Trust.
